Sub-elements Within Elements of Magic

This came to me while working on the main-non-elemental-Dragzard-skin-colors back in this post

It seems that Fire and Air do not have any sub-elements and Earth and Water have a few sub-elements.  Or is this idea is coming from Pokemon?  And it’s copywritted.

What are your thought on this?
